Brent Lilley is returning “home” for NZ Cup Week and could take as many as three of his stable stars with him.

Lilley, who has continued to grow into one of Victoria’s top trainers since moving from NZ, said classy pacer Messini and rejuvenated veteran trotter Kyvalley Blur would definitely head to Addington.

And, in an exciting twist, Lilley said he was seriously considering taking Australia’s champion trotter Keystone Del across as well.

“That’s a real chance,” he said. “He (Keystone Del) will resume at Melton on Saturday week and I’ll talk more with the owners after that.

“You know how much I love Cup Week and to go back with some of my best horses will be great.”

Keystone Del has not raced since winning at Ballarat on May 28.

The US-bred Kyvalley Blur, who started his career with the now retired Chris Lang Sr, has won 19 of his 83 starts and earned $317,293.

Most importantly, the gelding has won both starts this season and is racing in career-best form.

Messini, who boasts 21 wins from his 60 starts and $512,021 in earnings, took a few runs to find form this campaign, but looked good beating a handy field in the Preux Chevalier free-for-all at Melton at his latest run on September 17.
