The six-win trotter Heard The Whisper is now trained by Amber Hoffman. She has taken over the stables at Waikouaiti formerly occupied by Billy Heads, who was training Heard The Whisper.
Hoffman had been based at the Waikouaiti racecourse since she shifted from Westwood in June. Heard The Whisper, who has not raced since March, won his races when trained by Phil Williamson. Heads, who is on leave, shifted to Waikouaiti from Waimumu (Southland) in March to take over the stables formerly used by Andrew Faulks and Noel Creighton. The property was bought and refurbished by Gerald Cayford, the part-owner of Heard The Whisper. Backseat Chick(two wins) has been transferred from Heads to Craig Laurenson at Edendale. Ygritte has gone to Hoffman.
Hoffman said King Denny has jogged up sound. He pulled up lame when resuming at Addington on August 19 and subsequently an abscess burst in a foot.
