Top Of The Rock showed he is going to be a trotter capable of going through his classes here in South Australia.
Purchased by astute trainer Reg Trevean in partnership with Mark Muller, the son of Great Success showed good gate speed at his first South Australian start and gave driver Mark Billinger a easy drive in front leading all the way to win by 3.4 metres from Judes Trapper (by Keystone Salute) with Bella Fenton ( Conch Deville) a further 8 metres away third.
Top Of The Rock at just 3 years of age taking on the older horses showed he will win better races in South Australia, the gelding has now had 8 starts for 3 wins and 2 placings.
A previous winner at Geelong at his very first start in a race as 2 year old Top Of The Rock went onto compete in the NSW Breeders Challenge Final before being sent for a spell.
His first start as a 3 year old resulted in a 17 metre all the way victory at Kilmore followed by a credible fourth placing to the exciting Courchevel at Bendigo, before being purchased by Trevean & Muller.
By one of the countries leading percentage sire Great Success, Top Of The Rock dam is Cruzenthepacific, a Dream Vacation mare who started just three times for a third placing before finding herself in the breeding barn.
